During 1-3, April, 2025, The experts from PTTEP(PTT Exploration and Production PCL, PEETP, Thailand), Anusarn Sangnimnuan, Thanapong Ketmalee and Taradon Piromchart, visited PSCCL team for the cooperation on sand control and transporation in wellbore.
The object of PTTEP visiting was to review the research progress and experimental conditions on sand production and control of PSCCL, and furtherly discuss the research plan of 'Experimental Simulation of Wellbore Sand Transportation for PTTEP'. On the first meeting, Prof. Changying Dong, the header of PSCCL, introduced the basic information of School of Petroleum Engineering and Research Institute of Oil and Gas Production Engineering. Prof. Dong then show the research interests and experimental conditions of PSCCL, especially the present research progress and results of PSCCL team, mainly on sand and water production, water and sand control, frac-pack sand control and well stimulation, well completion for high-efficiency production. The owner and guests discussed much topics on sand production, sand control, sand-carrying production. After the meeting, the guests from PTTEP had a cruise around PSCCL laboratories.
During the visiting, the expertes from PTTEP viewed and emulated the demo experiments of Sand Transportation in Wellbore, and discussed the detailed methods, materials and operation with the researcher of PSCCL. The experimental project mainly conduct the experimental simulation of sand-water-gas multiphase flow in wellbore, which provides important basis for the future numerical simulation of PTTEP.
