Professor Dong Changyin to Speak at 2nd Symposium on Exploration and Development Innovation for Oil and Gas Fields

Author:Admin  Time:2024-8-5 11:20:42

From July 17 to 19, 2024, the Second Symposium on Exploration and Development Technology Innovation and High-Quality Development of Oil and Gas Fields was held in Enshi, Hubei. The conference, themed "Accelerating the Development of New Productive Forces in the Energy Industry to Support High-Quality Development of Oilfield Enterprises," was jointly organized by Yangtze University, the National Energy Heavy Oil Exploration and Production R&D Center, the School of Earth Sciences and Technology at Southwest Petroleum University, the National Key Laboratory of Efficient Development of Marine Oil and Gas, the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Unconventional Oil and Gas Development, and the Hubei Provincial Geological Survey.

Professor Dong Changyin delivered a keynote report on "Advances, Challenges, and Prospects in Flow-Solid Control and Extraction Completion Technologies for Deep Earth and Deepwater Oil and Gas Reservoirs." Deep (deep earth and deepwater) oil and gas resources are a major focus for energy development in China. A common challenge in the development of various reservoir types, including deep earth and deepwater reservoirs, is reservoir instability and sand production. These issues lead to wellbore collapse, equipment damage, and production loss, severely impacting extraction efficiency. Flow-solid control aims to manage reservoir instability and prevent sand production by focusing on solid control, integrating reservoir modification, and wellbore production regulation to achieve efficient control of solids and fluids (oil, gas, water) and enhance extraction efficiency. Compared to conventional oil and gas reservoirs, deep earth and deepwater reservoirs face more severe challenges in flow-solid control, extraction completion, and efficient development. This report addresses these issues, exploring predictions for deep oil and gas sand-liquid production, mechanisms of solid control in deep reservoirs, and deep oil and gas extraction and completion technologies, with a brief analysis of future trends and prospects.
