Changyin Dong, Doctor, Professor, Head of PSCCL

Head of Research Institute of Oil and Gas Production Engineering, School of Petroleum Engineering, UPC

Dong was born in  1976, and gained bachelor's degree of petroleum engineering in 1998 at China University of Petroleum(East China) (UPC). He obtained hes Ph.D degree of Oil and Gas Filed Development in 2003 at the same university. Now, Dong is the professor in Research Institute of Oil and Gas Production Engineering, School of Petroleum Engineering, UPC. Has is also the head of the research institute. Dong's research area are oil and gas production engineering, sand production and sand control, water control,  solid control and management, concerning basic theories, technologies, methods, equipment and software, covering loose sandstone, unconventional oil and gas, deep carbonate, coalbed methane, natural gas hydrate, thermal well, underground gas storage. Professor Dong undertook more than 10 national research projects involving National 863 projects, National Nature Science Fund projects, et al., and over 120 research projects from oil and gas industries and enterprise. His research outcome focuses on sand production prediction, sand control optimization, sand carrying evaluation, mechanical sand control screens and their evaluation methods. The software platform of Sandcontrol Office has been popularized in many oilfields at home as well as international oilfields. Till now, He has achieved 8 provincial awards for scientific and technological advancement, and more than 10 awards of Bureau level. 


Professor Dong has published 7 monographs on sold control and management, concerning "Sand Control Technologies in Oil and Gas Wells"、“Theories and Technologies on Sand Control in Oil and Gas Wells","Theories and Technologies on Sand Control in Horizontal Wells", et al.  He also published technical articles more than 120 items, and retrieved by SCI/EI more than 60 items. Meanwhile, Dong has authorized more than 20 China patents, and 16 software. All of the work improves the development of sand control and solid management in China.
